Tell us a little about yourself.
I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio but I have lived Downriver for 6 years now, with my wife Christina and baby boy Joe Jr. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, being outside, enjoying bonfires and nature hikes.
What do you do for work?
I currently serve as Manager of Community Relations for Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.
What made you want to become involved in Fresh Era?
I was very familiar with WHS and I had great respect for the great work they do. Back in 2015, when the first board was forming for Fresh Era, I was happy and excited to support the effort, and very grateful to be selected.
What are your goals as the new President of Fresh Era?
I aim to grow the organization’s following while staying focused on our events and volunteer opportunities. We have had great successes at these networking/volunteer/social events which are awesome and very well attended and enjoyed by many-I want to build on these strengths and successes. I also look forward to engaging with and serving my fellow Fresh Era board members. Everyone has personal and professional goals, as well as a unique direction for which they believe the Fresh Era organization can go and I look forward to helping our board members use Fresh Era as a way to achieve those goals. Lastly, The Vitale Center, The DEN and Core Orchards Detroit are all such tremendous assets for our organization and for Detroit neighborhoods and families-I aim to focus on these assets as well.
What would you like to see Fresh Era accomplish in the next year?<
We are still a very young organization in terms of our lifecycle. My modest goal: I would like to see Fresh Era host an event with over 100 people in attendance. My big goal: I would like to see Fresh Era membership grow to over 100 registered and engaged people. Lastly, I hope to gain a better sense of direction and form additional goals alongside my fellow board members.
